The French Coffee Press is a way of preparing coffee. There is a cylinder made out of either glass or a metallic alloy that you pour coffee grinds into, and then pour water into and stir the coffee grounds. After that there is a plunger that you press downward into the cylinder that traps the coffee grounds into the bottom of the cylinder.
There is a lot of different designs of the french coffee press. There is a stainless steel french press, some are made out of glass. There are designs that are elegant, some are just very average and basic. It depends a lot on the company that makes them.
To prepare properly the water to pour into the french coffee press it is advised not to pour in boiling water, it may make glass susceptible to breaking. What I would do to help prevent a bitter taste is to remove the water from the heat source right before it is about to boil. You can use a thermometer if you like but after a while you should begin to get a good feel for it.
For the coffee grounds, Bisbee Coffee Company offers all six blends grounded for French Press lovers. The beana are not ground too finely, but where you can extract the fullness of body in every mug.
