Though most associate Mocha with chocolate, the Moka in this blend refers to Mocha, the port city in Yemem. Beans hailing from this region are married with the beans from the island of Java, hence the world's first coffee blend.
Some estates age a portion of their coffee for up to three years. During this time, the coffee is "monsooned", by exposing it to warm, moist air during the rainy season. As they age, the beans turn from green to light brown, and the flavor gains strength while losing acidity.
This exotic combination results in a balance of spice and a slight berry sweetness and a smooth, satisfying body.
